Honey contaminated by pesticides on all continents

Neonicotinoids are everywhere on the planet. Globally, this type of pesticide has been found in 75% of honey samples analyzed by a Swiss team.

Widely used in Canada, these insecticides target the nervous system of bees and other insects. It is in North America that the proportion of contaminated honey is the highest, with 86% of samples, reveals a study published today in the prestigious journal Science.
